Some moments don’t wait — and Catherine knew this was one of them.
At 34 weeks pregnant, she reached out to us with a simple wish: to capture her pregnancy now, before it turned into a memory. Catherine and her husband Mark are a Canadian couple currently living in Vietnam, where they’ve spent the past few months growing fond of the country and its pace of life.
They didn’t come in with a strict concept. What they did know was that they loved black & white images - timeless, elegant, and honest. Full-profile portraits, gentle close-ups of the belly, hands intertwined. Marc, admittedly not the most comfortable in front of the camera, came along with an open mind.
Catherine arrived beautifully prepared, bringing a few meaningful props - hand-knitted baby socks, a delicate music box with a ballerina named Clara, an ultrasound image, and a plush sloth playing their baby’s recorded heartbeat. Small details, big emotions.

Makeup was kept soft and natural, true to Catherine herself. And as the shoot unfolded, any nervousness quietly melted away. With a bit of guidance and a relaxed atmosphere, the session became smooth, intimate, and surprisingly fun - even for Marc.
We’re grateful to have captured this tender chapter for Catherine and Marc, just before their world changes forever.
